Located in Aiken, SC.
“Delta Dan” registered 2004 solid paint, well bred, classic good looks, 15.3 hands & big bodied. Danny has been ridden extensively in Hitchcock Woods. He is a great trail horse, solid walk and trot, crosses water, bridges, etc. He will hack out by himself or in a group. Excels at Obstacle competitions & loves going places. He rode “on the buckle” in the 2017 Aiken Christmas parade downtown, with 70+ horses, carriages, dogs, vehicles, and lots of activity and was perfectly behaved & happy. Loads, trailers, clips, bathes, ties. He has been on a twice weekly riding schedule since April 2017. Dan has a lovely collected trot, very smooth and comfortable to sit. He is light in the bridle with a soft mouth (goes in a rubber snaffle) and knows basic lateral movements. Dan is very versatile, he can be ridden either English or Western. He has had some limited exposure to cattle and roping , and could show in Western/ Cowboy dressage with a little polish.
Danny is very intelligent, sensitive, learns quickly, and will need someone with a sense of humor who has been around horses. A beginner rider could enjoy a nice trail ride or two on him but he he is not a beginner’s horse because he can be playful and/or reactive once in awhile, and he needs boundaries occasionally! He’d be best suited to someone confident & tactful (doesn’t need to be a high skill level, but not a “Nervous Nelly”) who wants to enjoy a fun trail horse that loves to get on a trailer & go have adventures.
Asking $3,000 negotiable to perfect match/forever home.
